A few words from the Mayor of Cornelius regarding a recent BusinessWeek article which identified the Town of Cornelius as one of the top 10 "Best Affordable Suburbs 2009" in the United States.

 Antiquity is a “smart-growth” community 20 miles north of Charlotte nestled in the heart of downtown Cornelius. A wooden covered-bridge entrance will reflect the warm and relaxed feeling envisioned for the community. 2009 Homebuyer Tax Credit

Up to an $8,000 Federal Tax Credit

The Worker, Homeownership, and Business Assistance Act of 2009 has extended the tax credit of up to $8,000 for qualified first-time home buyers purchasing a principal residence. The tax credit now applies to sales occurring on or after January 1, 2009 and on or before April 30, 2010. However, in cases where a binding sales contract is signed by April 30, 2010, a home purchase completed by June 30, 2010 will qualify.

  • Nothing to Pay Back – This is Direct Stimulus to You!
  • Single Taxpayers Earning up to $75,000 Per Year and Married Couples Earning up to $150,000 Per Year Qualify for the Full Tax Credit. For sales occurring after November 6, 2009, the Act establishes income limits of $125,000 for single taxpayers and $225,000 for married couples filing joint returns.
  • The Credit is Available to All First-Time Buyers, and to Buyers Who Have Not Owned a Primary Residence in the Past Three Years.
  • Tax Credit Equal to 10% of the Home’s Purchase Price up to a Maximum of $8,000.

Borrowers Protection Plan

For first and second mortgages and home refinance loans

With Borrowers Protection Plan, Bank of America can cancel up to 12 monthly principal and interest loan payments for each protected event.  You can qualify for monthly loan cancellation benefits if you:
  • Experience a disabling illness or injury and cannot work for at least 30 consecutive days
  • Are admitted into a hospital for at least two consecutive nights
  • Lose your job involuntarily.
In the event of death, Borrowers Protection Plan can help protect your family.  During a difficult time, Bank of America can cancel up to 12 months of your mortgage principal and interest payments.

Driving Directions

From Charlotte: Take I-77 N to Exit 30, Griffith Street. Turn right on Griffith Street and travel approximately 1 mile. Turn right on Main Street and travel approximately 1,000 feet. Turn left onto South Street and travel past Davidson Elementary thru the covered bridge and into Antiquity, the model home will be straight ahead on your right at 1034 South St.

From Cornelius:  From I-77 N to exit 28, Catawba Avenue.  Turn right off the exit and go 1 mile to Hwy 115 (Old Statesville Rd).  Turn right at light and travel approximately 1/4 mile to left on Hickory Street.  Go over the RR track.  Turn left after you cross the RR track on Zion St and make a right onto Field Street.  You will see additional signage to direct you to the model.
