Joe Roy

Land Acquisition & Development

Starting with Meeting Street in 1996, Joe has played a very pivotal role in shaping the company’s vision of creating exceptional communities. As someone who stays grounded and focused, he prefers to avoid titles like "Owner" or "Founder," instead seeing himself as part of the team dedicated to delivering quality and craftsmanship in every project.

With an eye for land development, Joe's day-to-day activities involves scouting and acquiring superior land positions to create their new communities of the future.  The goal is to always have a theme where the homes are designed and set to blend seamlessly with their environment. Joe’s deep understanding of the industry is built on years of experience and a passion for creating spaces where people can live, work, and thrive.

Originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Joe attended Louisiana State University (Geaux Tigers!), where he earned his BS in Construction Management. After relocating to North Carolina in 1987, he launched Meeting Street Homes & Communities in 1996, following a background in industrial construction/manufacturing that helped lay the foundation for his and the company’s success.

On the personal side, the younger Joe was doing “extreme sports” before it had that name racing motorcycles, climbing tall things and often risking it all. Today, he is a little more tame yet remains an active outdoorsman enjoying activities like mountain biking, F3, disc golf, hiking, hunting, fishing and off-road motorcycle riding.  He loves adventure traveling with his wife, with whom he has been happily married for 33 years.  His family is a huge part of his life, including two grown children, a grandchild, and a sweet dog who’s a beloved member of the family.

A fun fact: Despite his success in land development, Joe is known to be "technologically challenged" – a humble reminder that sometimes, the best things in life are the ones you can’t plug in.
